Rapsody Grabs Kendrick Lamar and Lance Skiiiwalker for ‘Power’

We are roughly hours away from hearing Rapsody’s new project Laila’s Wisdom. The North Carolina rhymer released a new track called “Power,” and as the title suggest, it’s a powerful listen.

Rapsody is also joined by TDE artists Kendrick Lamar and Lance Skiiwalker on the song, which is produced by 9th Wonder. Over some funky productions, the rap trifecta deliver rhymes about the different sides power both good and bad.

“Badge make police feel powerful in the hood / Guns make us feel powerful but they don’t do no good / I know my blackness powerful and they don’t like that I know some n—-s sold theirs, sit back and watch ’em tap dance,” spits Rapsody in the first verse.

Meanwhile, Kung Fu Kenny blacks out and gives us a vivid example his lyrical power on the second verse.

“Amongst the haters and wickedness / Deliver this child from evil convictions and friviless / Debates about who’s the prominent emcee the millennium / And it’s all for the benjamins / And I’m all y’alls nemesis / And I’m all in all happy none yall can fathom who Kendrick is / The only one that did wrote book Genesis / Motherf—er, thats Power,” he spits.

“Power” follows behind Rapsody’s other stellar tracks from the LP, which are “Pay Up” and “You Should Know” (featuring Busta Rhymes). You can cop the album at midnight iTunes and other digital stores.
